Bloomsbury Minstrel Show

Boy here's a new one on me. I do remember however Oxford Fire Company having a show at BGS. Do any of you remember either of these?

  1. Hello my name is Joe Hajcak and moved in to Bloomsbury from Jersey City for about a year with my Parents and brother and sister. I lived up on 49 Willow avenue around 1971. My moms parents had a place up on the mountain with little bungaloes and a pool that people would come in from the city to stay. I never met my grandfather who died 2 years before I was born when the the furnace he was lighting blew up and he died a few days later. I remember going down to Sheets and Gardner store and Weiss store on the corner. Some of the families I remember were the Freeh, Sheets, Dewire, Pickel and Steinmetz. It was a nice little town and we use to go up to the Warrenside to eat once in awhile. My mom still has the clipping when her father passed away and about the accident.

  3. I'm sorry Linda kind of new at this. My grandfather's name was Henry Bischoff . I lived in Bloomsbury in 1971 and after leaving Jersey City with my family we lived up the road towards the culvert on Willow ave up by the Gearhardt family close to the culvert. My brother John was in heaven when he seen the Musconetcong river when we moved there. He loves his fishing.
