Swintner's cup on Rte 22

How many remember going there for ice cream? ;) YUM YUM
I do have a question about the youngest Fleming boy. I remember Bob aka Flip but can't think of his younger brothers name or his mother's first name. Any help out there?

  1. I don't remember Switner's cup. Where exactly was it?
I do however remember Flip (Robert) Fleming. He has a brother Bill and his mother's name was Frances (Switner) Fleming. She was married to Bob Fleming and Bob resides now in Phillipsburg. I think Bill is in the Easton,PA area and Flip had lived in Texas last time I spoke to someone about him.
My ex-husband Richard Mattison and I lived next door the the Switner's and Fleming's from about 1960 till I left in 1984.

  2. Good grief how could I have forgotten Gail? OLD TIMES IS SETTING IN.
The cup was the tiny building to the right of Swintner/Fleming's house. I wish I could remember a time frame. I don't believe Fleming's lived there at the time.
I lost track of Flip after high school. But yes I remember them all. Great people.

    Hi Linda,

As you can see, I still haven't joined the Bloomsbury Blog, but that
doesn't mean I don't read it whenever you've posted something new.

If memory serves me at all, I believe that the stand that Mrs.
Swintner ran was the Polka Dot or something similar. Before my mother
and I moved to Phillipsburg we lived in the house that Gail Ragan and
her ex-husband, Richard Mattison bought. Yes, the Flemings lived next
door to us and then Mr. and Mrs. Switner and then the ice cream stand.
I don't remember much about the Fleming boys other than waiting for
the school bus to pick us up. In high school none of the youngsters
who lived in Warrenside were allowed to ride the Bloomsbury bus - we
had to ride the bus that originated in Stewartsville. I remember more
about the Fleming boys cousin, LInda Kitchen from Hackettstown who
    visited there frequently.

The obit about Reuben Jumper interested me in that he was a brother in
law to my great-uncle, Robert Dennis. His sister, Anna Lucinda, was
    married to Robert.

    Regards....Faye
