Bloomsbury Bank Statement - 1956
Here is a copy of the bank's year-end statement, with a listing of the officers and directors for the fiscal year 1956. I'm sure the "old-timers" who read this blog will recognize most of the names here.
For those of you who had a savings account there, do you remember that the entries were hand written back then? I still have my old savings account passbook somewhere.

Yes I remember and I have my deposit book here somewhere or in Jersey.
ReplyDeleteBut who is this C. Clifford Fox? Do you know? Name is not ringing a bell.
I don't know if this is any relation to him, but I was thinking today about a classmate of mine from Stewartsville, Barbara Fox (she's in Good Shepherd in Bethlehem) and her older brother Clarence Fox. I believe he was in your class, Linda, wasn't he? Is he still in the area? Could this C. Clifford Fox be related to him? They lived on a farm on the road -- can't think of the name -- that veered off to the left from Route 22 after you started going up the hill from Bloomsbury. The road eventually ended at Warren Glen.
ReplyDeleteMy father worked for a Clifford Fox in Asbury and this Clifford Fox owned at least one farm and probably more.
ReplyDeleteThere was a Cyrus Fox who ran a lumber yard in Clinton, I think. It is possible he could have been a Director.
ReplyDeleteDonna yes Clarence was a good friend of mine. Last I knew he was living in Bangor. He had a gas station in Belvidere but it's no longer there. I have not seen him in years. Yes I knew Barbara, seems you and her were both in my bookkeeping class in PHS.
ReplyDeleteAre you saying she's in a nursing home?
And yes you are speaking of the Warren Glen Road. I don't think that farm is even there anymore and they had step father. I am not sure if their natural father was alive or the mother and he were divorced.
