  3. Now our cowthumps were not quite that bad. They were for the kids of the neighborhood. We would gang up, go to see newlyweds and make as much noise as possible. In the meantime the newlyweds would slip out the back door or phone Leo's or Sheets and Gardner and tell them that the kids would be on their way. They would make up little pieces of paper with numbers so they had a head count and then distribute them to the rowdy crowd of kids screaming "We want ice cream" on their front porch to get them away from their houses. LOL
    The last one I personally remember was for Bev Haring and "Red" George McQuaid. I don't know of any after that. Although at that point I was bit old for that.
    My dad told me they had one for them when they got married too.
