Iron Bridge Reconstruction noted from Califon bridge1

  1. Very interesting article! We go up to VT a lot (I live in CT) and near the junction of Rt 100 and Rt 30 north of Wardsboro, an old narrow iron truss bridge like the one in Bloomsbury was replaced about 1-2 years ago. They built a temporary structure and removed the old bridge, and then made new concrete piers at each end of where the old bridge was. A new bridge was erected that is wider and mimics the style of the old iron bridge. I love it!

  2. Basically what they did there. But no temp bridge. We had to use the one at the other end of town. What a pain!! But well worth it. When it was finished there was a parade. Somewhere I have shots. The kids were honored by being the first ones over the reopened bridge. GREAT JOB KIDS!! AND LYNN HEINRICH LOCKARD!! We are proud of all of you. You did make a difference

  3. I've posted a shot of me in my profile, but I don't see it here yet. Maybe it takes a while to show up? I see it when I go to my profile, but not in the Followers section at the top right.
