Memories of circus's past

Does anyone remember the circus's that used to be held, probably back in the '50's on what may have been on the Janosa farm.. Next to the current bank? I'm sure they were held by the Fire Company as they are the ones who normally did such things. I remember I was pretty young.

    Don't really remember the circus, but a Danny Janosa was my bus driver when I went to NHRHS as a tuition-paying student in 1960-1961. That's back when the bus would come from the HS up over Jugtown Mtn, and at tyhe bottom would head out towards Asbury. It turned around just before entering town, and then headed up Tunnel Road and thed down into Bloomsbury. It used to take me 45 minutes to get home, and I was just about the last kid on the bus then!

    Does anyone remember the snapping turtles grabbing the little ducklings in the river? I have a photo of a 20-25 pounder that I'm holding by the tail. It was one that dad shot near the graphite mill office.
