reply to Mike

That was Elisha Angle aka Pappy Angle. His son Paul who was the piano player at Warrenside at one time just past away a few weeks ago. As I recall rumor always had it he liked throwing poorly behaved kids down the steps. Now if this was only for fear factor value to us younger kids or not I don't know. You'll have to ask Rosanne. ;) Lance may have lied.

  1. I remember Elisha Cook Angle very well - he was probably one of the best teachers that I have encountered. He was the principal at least during 1955 - 56 and 57. He taught charcoal drawing on Friday afternoons which was the only day that girls were allowed to wear slacks (not jeans). There were several very good artists in the class of '57 (definitely not me).

Does anyone remember the "beach" that was created on the Mustconetcong between the building by the bridge and Wheeler's store. A dock was build - a lifeguard stand and a rope for swinging on. I remember that we were out of town when it was built and didn't know anything about until reading about it in the paper. I insisted that we come home immediately to investigate.

I believe that the sweetshop was run by the Randalls family and remember the shop even though it didn't operated very long.

  2. Ok Folks the message you see above was posted by Faye Dennis Eschenfelder. I have no idea why she is showing as anonymous. :(
Welcome Faye!!! Glad to see you made it. But you don't show on the member list. Maybe because you have no name? Remember we are all learning at the same time here ;)
