Bloomsbury History article - 1983
Here is an article from the Hunterdon County Democrat, June 1983. It is a good concise article with some good pictures of the early years of the town after it became incorporated. Hope all enjoy this.
Actually, reading the article, this came out the same week we moved to town. The "Town for Sale" mentioned at the end is my first solid memory of Bloomsbury, and I still have a set of wildlife cards I bought that day. Bill Tietjen, the man to call about tables, was our Cub Scout den leader that year, when myself, his son Billy, and Todd Homa were Webelos. Wow.
I think I have some of the writing of John Vanderbelt. Not sure what box it may be in since I haven't on packed some the boxes with books in. He can and talked to Harold and they walke along the Muskie looking for old caves.
Sue, any idea what would have happened to John Vanderbilts historical stuff?
